None of this is secret. It is the same set of signals any moderation system leans on. Understanding them is why the warm-up is paced the way it is.
Karma is a gate, not a score. Most subreddits do not care how clever your post is if the account is below their karma or age minimum. An AutoModerator rule removes it before a human sees it, which is why a strong first post from a new account vanishes with no explanation. A better post does not change that. You need an account that already clears the bar. Want your own target? Open a sub you plan to post in, check its sidebar and rules, and find the karma or account-age minimum. That number is what the warm-up aims at.
Device and IP are part of the identity. Reddit ties an account to where it logs in from. An account warmed on one machine and one IP, then suddenly accessed from a different country and device, looks like a sold or stolen account. That mismatch is one of the easiest things to flag. Warming on your own device removes the mismatch entirely, because there never is a handover of fingerprint.
Timing gives bots away. Automated accounts post in bursts, at machine-regular intervals, often through the night in the account's supposed timezone. Human activity clusters around waking hours, varies day to day, and leaves gaps. Pacing the warm-up to a human rhythm is slower than a script, and it is the difference between karma that sticks and karma that gets reversed in a sweep.
Comment-to-post ratio matters. Accounts that only ever submit links, or only post in one promotional sub, read as single-purpose. Real users comment far more than they post, across several communities they actually care about. The warm-up builds that mix on purpose, so the account has a normal-looking history rather than a thin promotional one.
Vote rings are the loudest signal of all. When a cluster of accounts repeatedly upvotes the same content, the pattern is trivial to detect from the graph of who votes for whom. Bought karma sits inside that graph by definition. When Reddit runs a sweep, the karma is removed and the accounts that fed it are usually suspended together. Earned karma carries none of that linkage.
Account age cannot be faked, only waited out. Several subs gate on age as well as karma, precisely because age is the one thing a panel cannot sell you. There is no shortcut here. What we can do is start the clock on the right account early, keep it healthy while it ages, and make sure the karma is in place by the time the age requirement is met, so both gates open at once rather than one after the other.
Sudden hostility is a stop sign. Some subs are simply hostile to anything that looks like outside promotion, and pushing an account into them is how you get it removed. Part of the work is knowing which subs are worth warming toward and which to leave alone. We would rather tell you a target is a bad idea than burn an account proving it.
